Job description

Salary:

French Immersion K-5 Teachers

School-Year 2026-2027

Full-time, 10- month positions


Overview

Implement the curriculum, keeping accurate records, working cooperatively with their grade-level team and adapting materials to the French immersion theme. Teachers are responsible for managing behavior and maintaining a positive classroom climate. Candidates must be eager to work with students of all abilities in a French immersion school and have a deep enough command of French, English, and their content area to adapt instruction to students interests and needs. Instructors will be recruited from a variety of French-speaking countries to represent the broad reach of the French language around the world. International candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience and a teaching degree.


Status of Position

This is a full-time position with Acadmie Lafayette. This is an exempt position pursuant to the U.S. Department of Labor.


Reporting

The French Immersion Teacher reports to their campus/building principal.


Responsibilities

  • Participate in grade level curriculum planning
  • Lesson planning and implementation of the immersion model
  • Classroom management
  • Communicate with peers and parents
  • Maintain accurate grades, documentation of report cards, and attendance records
  • Participate in all mandatory training and professional development, as required
  • Engage in school-wide activities


Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree
  • Hold or be eligible for Missouri Teaching Certificate or equivalent in home country
  • Native or near-native fluency in French
  • Proven experience as a teacher; international candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience
  • Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills necessary for working in a multicultural environment
  • The ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and to meet deadlines
  • Ability to integrate technology into the classroom


Other Requirements

  • Must pass a state and federal fingerprint background check through MACHS.
  • Must be registered or get registered with the Family Care Safety Registry.
