Description
Markon is building a talent pool of qualified CNO (Computer Network Operations) professionals that are interested in teaching the next generation. This role is an instructor position mostly based in Chantilly, VA.
Responsibilities
  • Deliver advanced instruction in computer network operations (CNO), including planning, collection, network navigation, and exploitation techniques within classified and unclassified environments.
  • Design, develop, and continuously refine comprehensive lesson plans, instructor guides, and course materials aligned with adult learning principles and Sponsor requirements.
  • Teach complex technical topics such as IT networking, mobile and desktop operating systems, scripting/programming languages, network collection techniques, and IT security products in a clear and accessible manner.
  • Develop and facilitate hands-on labs, scenario-based exercises, and experiential learning events that simulate real-world cyber operational environments.
  • Conduct instruction on systems and network vulnerability assessment methodologies, tools, and reporting practices.
  • Integrate multiple instructional delivery methods (lecture, facilitated discussion, CBT, and practical application) to address diverse learning styles and mission needs.
  • Mentor and evaluate students on technical proficiency, operational tradecraft, analytical thinking, and adherence to security protocols.
  • Collaborate with operational teams and subject matter experts to ensure course content reflects current tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) and evolving cyber threats.

Qualifications
Required:
  • A current TS/SCI with a Polygraph level clearance with the Sponsor or be eligible for cross over of current clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a STEM field.
    • 4 years of additional full-time work experience in computer science, information systems, engineering, mathematics, business, or other related scientific or technical discipline shall be considered equivalent to a Bachelor's degree.
  • Demonstrated experience in Computer Network Operations including IT networking, mobile and desktop operating systems, computer programming and scripting languages, and information technology security products.
  • 5+ years demonstrated experience in network collection techniques.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting systems and network vulnerability assessments
  • 5+ years demonstrated experience working within a team to conduct computer network operations - planning, collection, network navigation
  • 5+ years demonstrated strong communication and organizational skills, ability to clearly and concisely convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
  • An Adult Learning Certificate from Association for Talent Development, an equivalent industry recognized certificate (as defined above), or hold a degree in adult learning prior to first day of instruction.

Desired:
  • 1 or more years of experience in course delivery and instructing to include preparation of technical training courses using multiple methods of learning to include, but not limited to lecture, facilitated discussion, hands-on/experiential/scenario, CBT.
  • 1 or more years of experience in developing and conducting training or education of personnel within cyber domain.
  • Demonstrated experience designing lessons and crafting lesson plans and/or instructor guides incorporating adult learning principles and all essential elements for instruction.
  • 3+ years of Sponsor specific cyber operational experience

Salary Range
USD $200,000.00 - USD $300,000.00 /Yr.
