We are seeking motivated and technically capable Field Engineers to support electrical substation construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience and a foundational understanding of high-voltage construction operations. This is a full-time, site-based role performed in rotational shifts, requiring strong engagement with field leadership, project management processes, and a genuine commitment to safety. The Field Engineer serves as a technical resource on site and as the direct link between construction crews and the broader engineering team.

The Field Engineer will:

  • Champion site safety by participating in daily pre-task planning, toolbox talks, and Energized Electrical Work Permit (EEWP) compliance; immediately escalate observed hazards to field leadership.
  • Work on site full time in rotational shifts to support continuous construction operations across all project phases.
  • Act as a technical liaison on site, offering guidance to project leadership, construction crews, and subcontractors under direction of the Lead Field Engineer.
  • Ensure project adherence to engineering and design specifications, industry standards, and construction regulations.
  • Support the resolution of construction issues, deviations from plans, and unforeseen challenges; escalate to Lead Field Engineer as needed.
  • Coordinate with home office engineering teams for issue resolution when required.
  • Review and process submittals, RFIs, and field documentation using Procore or equivalent project management software.
  • Maintain accurate field markups, daily reports, and project documentation.
  • Support pre-energization checklists and commissioning walkthroughs under direction of the Lead Field Engineer.
  • Support plan review and approval processes with local and state authorities, as required.
  • Report status of open technical issues to Lead Field Engineer.
  • Adhere to internal standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant field experience in the construction of high-voltage electrical infrastructure.
  • Basic working knowledge of transmission, substation, or civil engineering design principles, construction drawings, and QC processes.
  • Ability to work with and interpret engineering documents, specifications, and project deliverables in a field construction environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with project teams, clients, and regulatory entities.
  • OSHA 10 certification required; OSHA 30 preferred.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Willingness to work rotational shifts and extended schedules in a field environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; exposure to or willingness to learn Procore or similar project management software.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • EIT (Engineer in Training) designation a plus, not required.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license not required.

Travel Requirements:

      • Role will require travel as necessary to achieve job responsibilities, up to 100% of the time.

  • Competitive salary and bonus structure.
  • Comprehensive health and retirement benefits.
  • Per diem and travel support for site-based assignments.
  • Professional development opportunities and pathways toward senior leadership roles.
