Job description

THE CANDIDATE MUST BE LOCATED CHICAGOLAND AREA AND BE ABLE TO TRAVEL LOCALLY TO PERMITTING OFFICES AND JOB SITES FOR MEETINGS.
Engenuity Fiber Engineering specializes in fiber deployment services for telecommunication broadband companies.  With a team of industry veterans boasting over 25 years of experience each, Engenuity offers high-level and low-level design, permitting, program management, quality control, and field compliance. The company's mission is to deliver high-quality, efficient infrastructure solutions while maintaining fair pricing and exceeding client expectations.

Role Description

This position is a contract to permanent hire after 6 months. This is a full-time on-site role for an Outside Plant Engineer at Engenuity Fiber Engineering. The Outside Plant Engineer will be responsible for tasks related to OSP engineering, network design, OSP construction, and ensuring the efficient deployment of fiber optics infrastructure in the Albuquerque Metropolitan Area.

  • Outside Plant Engineering skills
  • IQGEO, Vetro and AutoCAD Experience is required
  • FTTH Network Design expertise
  • OSP Construction knowledge
  • Experience in OSP deployment
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field preferrable but not required
  • Katapult, Ocalc, Make Ready Analysis
  • Minimum 5 years experience

The ideal candidate will possess a robust set of skills that seamlessly intertwine technology and engineering principles. Experience in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) allows you to visualize and analyze spatial data critical for infrastructure planning. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools is essential for effective documentation and communication within project teams. Knowledge of Network Design contributes significantly to creating efficient and scalable systems that meet current and future demands. Moreover, familiarity with OSP Construction and OSP Engineering is crucial for the successful implementation and maintenance of outside plant facilities. In the fast-evolving field of telecommunications, expertise in Telecommunications Engineering, particularly with regard to innovative approaches such as Fiber to the Home (FTTH), is paramount. Effective collaboration is further facilitated through tools like Microsoft Teams, enhancing communication across various teams and stakeholders. Additionally, having a thorough understanding of Permit Applications is vital to ensure compliance with local regulations and streamline the project approval process.
