Tencarva Machinery Company

Job description

Description:

This role focuses on the repair, rebuild, testing, and field service of industrial and municipal pumps and rotating equipment. You'll diagnose failures, repair pumps and other rotating equipment, and perform testing - both in our shop and onsite at customer facilities. This is an OEM-authorized repair environment – not plant maintenance. Rather than performing routine preventative maintenance on the same equipment every day, you'll perform complete tear-downs, failure analysis, rebuilds / remans, and field service on a wide variety of pumps and rotating equipment.

As the first full-time mechanic supporting our West Palm service operation, you'll have significant ownership over the shop and play a key role in expanding our service capabilities throughout Southeast Florida.

About Hudson Pump & Tencarva

Hudson Pump & Equipment has been serving customers throughout Florida since 1979 and provides pumps, fluid process equipment, repair services, and engineered solutions. Locations in Lakeland, Jacksonville, and West Palm Beach.

Hudson is part of Tencarva Machinery Company, one of the largest and most respected distributors and OEM-authorized service networks in the pump and process equipment industry. Together, we provide equipment distribution, applications engineering, OEM-authorized repair, field service, automation & controls, and custom fabrication for over 17,000 active customers in 18 states, across many segments, including industrial manufacturing, municipal water/wastewater, power generation, mining/metals, oil/chemical, and other critical infrastructure.

Equipment You'll Work On

  • ANSI process pumps
  • Vertical turbine pumps
  • Submersible pumps
  • Split-case pumps
  • Multistage pumps
  • Positive displacement pumps
  • Air-operated diaphragm (AODD) pumps
  • Motors, gearboxes, blowers, valves, and other rotating equipment

*Equipment supports a wide range of industrial and municipal water/wastewater applications

What You'll Be Responsible For

  • Disassemble, inspect, troubleshoot, and diagnose failures in industrial pumps and rotating equipment
  • Perform complete tear-downs, repairs, rebuilds, and remanufacturing work to OEM specifications
  • Replace bearings, seals, shafts, impellers, wear components, packing, and other repair parts
  • Perform laser alignment and other precision mechanical measurements
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, parts diagrams, manuals, and OEM documentation
  • Test, inspect, and verify equipment performance following repair completion
  • Support field troubleshooting, equipment removal, installation, alignment, startup, and other routine mechanical service activities
  • Coordinate with internal teams regarding repair scope, parts requirements, and job execution
  • Help organize and maintain an efficient, clean, and safety-focused service operation
  • Maintain professional relationships with customers while representing Hudson in the field

Why Hudson / Tencarva

  • Day shift, Monday-Friday schedule
  • Annual incentive program
  • Quarterly shop performance incentives
  • Profit Sharing via 401(k)
  • Earn up to 120 hours (3 weeks) of PTO per year, plus 10 paid holidays
  • Opportunity to help build and grow Hudson's West Palm repair operation
  • Hudson has proudly served Florida customers for more than 45 years and has an excellent reputation for quality work and ethical business
  • One of the largest and most respected OEM-authorized pump distributors and repair networks in the industry
  • Tencarva is a stable, growing company with nearly 50 years of success and no history of layoffs
  • Primarily shop-based work with local field service
  • Big-company resources with a local-shop feel
  • Realistic workloads and expectations – not a high-pressure production environment

Insurance benefits include medical, dental, vision, disability, and life.

Requirements:

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years repairing or rebuilding industrial or municipal pumps, pump stations, or other rotating equipment preferred
  • Background in an OEM-authorized repair center, pump distributor, manufacturer, or industrial MRO environment strongly preferred
  • Ability to independently manage complete tear-downs, diagnostics, rebuilds, testing, and repair projects with minimal supervision
  • Comfortable balancing shop rebuild work with local field service responsibilities
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
  • Experience with laser alignment and precision mechanical measurements
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, parts diagrams, and OEM documentation
  • Professional demeanor and confidence interacting directly with customers
  • Strong organization, follow-through, and ownership mentality
  • Valid driver's license

We're looking for a dependable mechanic who enjoys working independently, takes pride in quality craftsmanship, and wants the opportunity to help build something. This role offers significant ownership and visibility and is well suited for someone who wants to grow alongside a growing service operation.
