They share joint responsibility with pilots for the safety and operational control of flights, including creating flight plans, analyzing weather conditions, and ensuring compliance with regulations. Working full time, they operate in airline operations centers, making real-time decisions to address any issues that may arise during a flight. Their work is critical to maintaining safe, efficient, and on-time airline operations.

Familiarity with flight tracking software, weather analysis tools, and airline operations systems is essential. Strong decision-making, attention to detail, and effective communication are crucial soft skills for this role. These skills ensure safe, efficient flight operations and effective coordination between pilots and ground teams.
