Description
QBE, LLC is seeking a Voice, Video & Collaboration Engineer to support the SCITES 2 program onsite at U.S. SOUTHCOM in Doral, FL.
This role supports enterprise voice, video, collaboration, conferencing, and AV services in a secure DoD environment. The ideal candidate will provide hands-on engineering, troubleshooting, sustainment, documentation, and architecture support for mission-critical communications systems.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Serving as the builds engineer, leading coordination for AV installations within the command.
  • Leading and coordinating AV installation projects, including mounting TVs, installing Extron systems, and supporting large conference room builds.
  • Collaborating extensively with the Directorate of Public Works (DPW) and the cable team to ensure proper infrastructure and installation of AV equipment.
  • Assisting and coordinating with external contractors (e.g., AV3) for large-scale conference room and collaboration space builds.
  • Supporting multidisciplinary teams responsible for Video Teleconferencing (VTC), Audiovisual (AV), and Production services to ensure mission success.
  • Creating, updating, maintaining, and interpreting required Body of Evidence (BOE) documentation for collaboration systems.
  • Assisting management and internal teams in navigating the client's accreditation process for communication and media platforms.
  • Documenting responses to required controls and maintaining a robust library of technical documentation and network diagrams.
  • Maintaining system baselines and configuration management items, including security monitoring for all collaboration hardware.
  • Collaborating with all stakeholders to ensure complete and functioning systems that meet performance and security requirements.
  • Recommending and implementing process improvements to streamline VTC and Voice service delivery.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to VTC, AV, and collaboration platforms.
  • Providing technical support and guidance to end-users and team members.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Security+ or equivalent IAT Level II Certification.
  • BA/BS in a field relevant to Collaboration Engineer role (additional experience may be substituted for degree requirements).
  • High School diploma plus 4 years of additional experience, or an Associate's degree plus 2 years of additional experience, may substitute for a Bachelor's degree.
  • A relevant Master's degree may count for 2 years of experience; a relevant PhD may count for 4 years.
  • 5+ years of experience with 2+ years of relevant VTC, AV, Production and/or Collaboration Service experience.
  • Experience with network documentation, including security compliance, configuration management, and centralized authentication.
  • Experience creating and communicating complex information technology documentation to diverse audiences.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Extron AV Associate Certification.
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Collaboration.
  • Experience at a DoD Combatant Command (e.g., SOUTHCOM, NORTHCOM, CENTCOM, CYBERCOM, INDOPACOM, EUCOM, AFRICOM, STRATCOM, TRANSCOM, SOCOM, SPACECOM) or a component is desired.

Clearance Requirements:
  • Must have an active secret clearance.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets and office machinery.
  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
  • Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
