Actual Job Site Location is Dillon Montana

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $33.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week

Schedule:

  • 10 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Overtime
  • Weekends as needed

Education:

High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

Blast Hole Drilling: 1 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

Driver's License

Ability to Commute:

Dillon, MT (Required)

Ability to Relocate:

Butte, MT or Dillon, MT: Relocate before starting work (Required)

About Buckley Powder Co.

Buckley Powder Co. is a supplier of goods and services to the mining, construction, seismic exploration and energy exploration industries, covering a 16-state area in the Rockies, Gulf Coast region, and the Mid-West. Additionally, we serve power plants, EOD contractors, law enforcement, and demolition firms. We provide a full line of explosive products, shot service crews, drill and shoot contracts, blast design, 3D profiling, Boretrak testing, and shot rock service.

Overview
Buckley Powder Co is currently seeking blast hole drill operators in the Dillon, MT area. Pay scale is dependent on qualifications and experience. Military experienced candidates or those without a college diploma encouraged to apply

Qualifications:

  • One+ years' blast hole drilling experience (preferred)
  • Experience maintaining drills
  • Willingness to travel 75% of the time
  • Willingness to do laborer work
  • Willingness to work overtime and extended hours
  • Able to lift, carry, and handle heavy tools and supplies weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Pass a drug screen
  • Valid Driver’s license
  • High School Diploma
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Able to follow written and/or oral instructions
  • Able to read and interpret and apply rules, regulations, policies, or procedures

Essential Functions:

  • Regular attendance and punctuality are required.
  • Operate drills according to drill pattern in sometimes remote locations as well as on active mine sites.
  • Move drills to the designated location and safely maneuver the drill into position to drill blast holes.
  • Safe and responsible operation and maintenance of assigned drilling rig.
  • Demonstrate safe working practices and follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Awareness of importance of safety procedures and potential consequences if work is not completed within regulations.
  • Inspect and maintain the drill’s mechanisms, lubricant systems, and fluid levels.
  • Make minor repairs by replacing gaskets, filters, and hoses.
  • Complete drilling and blasting reports as required.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, climb, bend, twist, squat, stoop, and kneel.
  • Must be able to lift 10 to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work from heights.
  • Knowledgeable of and compliance with applicable OSHA, MSHA, and EPA regulations and governing agencies.
  • Present clean and professional appearance while in Buckley Powder uniform.
  • Other responsibilities may be assigned.

Work environment:

  • Work outdoors in extreme weather conditions in remote locations or on active mine sites.
  • Moderate noise levels.
  • Frequent exposure to fumes and airborne particles.
  • Must be able to climb in and out of drilling rigs.
  • May be required to lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to wear personal protective gear.
