Full Time Evening information

What is a full time evening?

A Full Time Evening job typically refers to a work schedule that includes evening shifts while meeting full-time hour requirements, usually around 35-40 hours per week. These shifts often start in the late afternoon and run into the night, depending on the industry and employer. Common industries for evening jobs include healthcare, customer service, retail, and hospitality. Evening roles can provide flexibility for those with daytime commitments while still offering benefits associated with full-time employment, such as health insurance and paid time off.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in a full time evening position?

To thrive in a full-time evening position, candidates should possess reliability, time management, and the ability to work independently during evening or late-night shifts. Familiarity with scheduling software, communication tools, or specific equipment relevant to the industry may also be required. Strong communication skills, adaptability, and customer service orientation set standout employees apart. These skills are crucial for maintaining productivity, handling unique evening challenges, and ensuring seamless operations after regular business hours.

What can I expect from the work environment in a full time evening role?

Full-time evening roles typically involve working outside of traditional business hours, which can mean a quieter work environment or fewer team members on-site, depending on the industry. You may interact more closely with a smaller, dedicated team or work autonomously, facing unique challenges such as handling late customer requests or managing closing procedures. Evening shifts often require adaptability and self-motivation, as supervisory support may be limited. This schedule can also offer a better work-life balance for those seeking daytime flexibility, and provides opportunities to gain diverse experience by managing a broader range of responsibilities during off-peak hours.

Job description

Job Title: Bank Janitorial Floater (High-Travel Role)

Location: Detroit & Greater Metro Area (Multiple Locations Daily)

Shift: Evenings (5:00 PM 2:00AM OR LATER)

Status: Full-Time

The Reality of This Role

This is not a "one building, one shift" job. As a Floater, you are our emergency response team. You will be on the road for a significant portion of your shift, navigating through Detroits neighborhoods and the surrounding suburbs. You might start your evening in Wyandotte, head up to a branch in Rochester, and finish with an emergency cover in Grosse Pointe.

If you do not enjoy driving or do not have a vehicle you trust to handle 50100+ miles an evening in Michigan weather, this is not the role for you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Rapid Deployment: Respond to last-minute "call-outs" by driving to assigned bank branches across all Michigan counties.
  • Route Navigation: Efficiently manage your own travel between sites.
  • Bank-Specific Cleaning: Perform high-security cleaning including sanitizing ATMs, teller lines, glass partitions, and private offices.
  • Solo Operation: Work independently at various locations, often being the only person in the building with the keys and alarm code.
  • Supply Transport: Keep your vehicle stocked with essential cleaning kits to ensure youre ready for any site regardless of their on-site inventory.
Cleaning Responsibilities
  • Restroom & Break Room Care: Clean, sanitize, and stock supplies (paper towels, soap, etc.).
  • Floor Maintenance: Sweep, mop, and vacuum various floor surfaces.
  • Waste Management: Efficient trash removal and liner replacement.
  • Surface Cleaning: Dusting desks, furniture, and fixtures; window washing as needed.
  • Sanitization: Disinfecting high-touch areas to ensure a healthy environment.
  • Inventory: Replenishing paper products and tracking cleaning supplies.
The "Done" Standard (Shift Expectations)

In this role, we do not watch the clock; we watch the results.

  • Quality over Time: A shift is not finished simply because the clock hits a certain hour.
  • Manager Sign-off: You are officially "done" for the night only once your supervisor has completed a final walkthrough, verified all tasks are completed to 100% satisfaction, and cleared you to leave.
  • Commitment: This role requires someone who stays until the job is right.

    Driving & Vehicle Requirements

    • Reliable Transportation is Non-Negotiable: You must have a dependable, insured vehicle capable of daily, long-distance travel across the Metro area.
    • Valid Drivers License: A clean driving record is required as you will be frequently moving between high-traffic areas.
    • All-Weather Comfort: You must be comfortable driving in Michigan winters, rain, and heavy construction traffic like I-75, and I-94.
    • Smartphone Proficiency: Ability to use GPS and mobile apps to clock in/out at different geographic locations throughout the night.

    Physical Requirements & Skills

    • Stamina: The ability to go from "car to work" multiple times a night.
    • Trustworthiness: You will be handling keys and alarm codes for financial institutions; a background check is mandatory.
    • Adaptability: The schedule changes daily. You must be okay with not knowing exactly where your "office" will be until the shift starts.

    What We Offer

    • Competitive Hourly Pay: Higher rate than stationary cleaners to account for the "floater" nature of the role.
    • Travel: To help cover the cost of gas. You will be provided with a gas card.
