Job description

We are currently seeking a full-time Environmental Geologist or Engineer (Environmental Project Manager) to join our team in Long Beach, California. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of EnSafe's growing environmental practice while contributing to a diverse portfolio of projects for industrial, commercial, and government clients nationwide.

This position is based in our Long Beach office, where you'll collaborate closely with a talented team of environmental professionals in a highly interactive and supportive environment. Relocation assistance is available to the successful candidate.

As an Environmental Geologist or Engineer, you'll play a key role in managing and delivering a wide range of environmental investigation and remediation projects while working in an environment that encourages innovation, teamwork, and continuous professional development. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

In this position, you will:

  • Lead and oversee project work associated with environmental investigations and remediation oversight.
  • Lead technical teams working across multiple offices throughout the country, problem-solving, preparing plans and specifications, and meeting with clients and subcontractors.
  • Communicate with clients, regulatory agencies, vendors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Develop Work Plans and/or Sampling and Analysis Plans.
  • Conduct site investigation activities, including sampling of soil, groundwater, surface water, indoor air, vapor intrusion, soil gas, and drinking water.
  • Lead Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs).
  • Compile and interpret investigation data and write technical reports.
  • Evaluate the feasibility of technologies, designing pilot/bench tests, and designing and implementing remedial/corrective actions.
  • Support marketing/business development efforts.
  • Project sites may include commercial or industrial properties, large and complex federal facilities, or military installations.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Minimum Skills and Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET-accredited college in Geology or Engineering (Chemical, Civil, Environmental).
  • 5+ years of environmental assessment/remediation experience.
  • Has obtained a California GIT, EIT, or PG, PE.
  • Experience with Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments.
  • Experience in multi-media environmental sampling. PFAS sampling experience a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey technical information to diverse stakeholders (environmental consulting experience preferred).
  • Proven ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams and provide mentorship or technical guidance to junior staff.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of professionalism, accountability, and work ethic.
  • Willingness and ability to travel in support of project needs, including overnight travel.
  • Strong focus on responsiveness, quality, and client service to expand, support, and maintain EnSafe's client relationships.
  • Support EnSafe' s seller-doer business development efforts within Southern California.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities.
  • Actively participate in business development, including proposal writing, scope development, and client presentations.
  • Current OSHA 40-hr. HAZWOPER training and certification.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license with the ability to operate a vehicle for project-related travel.

Preferred Skills:

  • Master's degree in environmental science, Geology, or related field.
  • GIT, PG or EIT, PE Licensure
