Job description

GeoTek Engineering & Testing Services, Inc. is seeking to fill a full-time Environmental Scientist position. We have been in business for 38 years and specialize in Geotechnical Engineering, Construction Materials Testing, and Environmental/Industrial Hygiene Consulting. This is a full-time entry or staff level position. The successful candidate will provide support to our environmental project managers and can develop into a project manager role. This position will include both office and field work, with some field work requiring overnight stays.

Responsibilities

  • Perform soil, water and air sample collection.

  • Perform groundwater monitoring and remediation system operation and maintenance.

  • Respond to petroleum, agricultural chemical and other spills.

  • Respond to customer inquiries and requests for services.

  • Conduct Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments.

  • Support Project Managers with site assessment and clean-up projects, including report preparation.

Minimum Requirements

  • Degree in engineering, geology or science is required.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, math skills, attention to detail, and verbal and written communication skills are essential.

  • Have good mechanical, electrical and trouble shooting skills.

  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to perform duties in outside weather conditions including cold and heat/humidity.

  • Current valid driver’s license.

  • Motivated and willing to learn and be challenged.
