About the Role

The Assistant Director of Engineering plays a vital role in ensuring that all hotel facilities, equipment, and systems are maintained in impeccable condition, in alignment with Four Seasons standards of excellence. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for the daily operations of the Engineering Department, supporting preventive maintenance programs, managing capital projects, and ensuring guest comfort and safety through efficient and reliable facility management.

What You Will Do

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the Engineering Department, ensuring optimal productivity and adherence to maintenance schedules.
  • Assist the Director of Engineering in planning and executing preventive maintenance programs for all hotel areas and private residences in accordance with legal agreements.
  • Conduct regular inspections of building systems, guest rooms, and public areas to uphold the highest standards of safety, functionality, and aesthetics.
  • Oversee and manage operational and capital expenditures, ensuring accurate forecasting, budgeting, and cost control.
  • Collaborate closely with all departments and stakeholders to ensure timely completion of engineering tasks and minimal disruption to guest experiences.
  • Manage third-party service providers, ensuring compliance with Four Seasons quality and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, service contracts, and equipment performance.
  • Uphold compliance with all company policies, procedures, and local regulations related to safety, fire prevention, and energy conservation.

What You Bring

  • 3-5 years of experience in an engineering management role within a luxury hotel or similar environment.
  • Degree or diploma in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related technical field preferred.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, with proven ability to manage teams and multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Sound knowledge of building systems, preventive maintenance programs, and capital project planning.
