Encapsulation Operator Operating Schedules:
  • 1st Shift 7:00am- 3:30pm
  • 2nd Shift 3:00pm-11:30pm (+$2.25 Shift Differential)
  • 3rd Shift 11:00pm-7:30am (+$2.25 Shift Differential)

All shifts include Saturdays plus overtime as required to meet production needs.
Encapsulation Operator Responsibilities:
  • Quickly sets up all phases of the encapsulation equipment for smooth operation and maximum output and similarly disassembles equipment for proper cleaning and sanitizing.
  • Maintains a standard output for each product being processed and continuously improves speed and performance.
  • Has sufficient knowledge of the equipment used to make adjustments, without supervision, within guidelines outlined in the applicable SOP and current ENCAP Credentialed Training program levels.
  • If applicable, passes down information to the next Encapsulation Operator at shift change so they are able to continue to operate the encapsulation or powder filling equipment while achieving consistent results and without a loss of productivity.
  • Commits to the Encapsulation Credentialed Training program where the proper operating knowledge, skills and experience are acquired to meet the high quality of proficiency expected as a Thorne operator.
  • Becomes cross-trained in at least two other production areas and willingly works in the different production areas as assigned by supervisor.

Mixing Operator Operating Schedules:
  • 1st Shift 7:00am- 3:30pm
  • 2nd Shift 3:00pm-11:30pm (+$2.25 Shift Differential)
  • 3rd Shift 11:00pm-7:30am (+$2.25 Shift Differential

All shifts include Saturdays plus overtime as required to meet production needs.
Please note, effective July 12, 2026 Sanitation Technicians will transition to a 12-hour schedule.
  • Day Shift: 5:00am-5:30pm
  • Night Shift: 5:00pm-5:30am

Mixing Operator Responsibilities:
  • Learns and maintains all technical procedures related to assembly, disassembly, and cleaning of equipment and maintains the overall condition of the machine parts and the machine.
  • Collects the required quantity of samples as directed by the batch record and accurately performs slug tests and all other tests as required.
  • Operates the forklifts properly, keeps certified annually, and maintains a safe working environment while doing so.
  • Gains sufficient knowledge of the weighing, sifting, milling, roller compaction, and blending equipment to make
    adjustments without supervision.
  • Quickly and accurately sets up all phases of Mixing for smooth operation and maximum output.
  • Commits to the Mixing Credentialed Training program.
  • Becomes cross-trained in other production areas and willingly works in the different production areas as assigned by the lead or supervisor.

WHAT YOU NEED
  • Minimum High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Prior manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to work overtime as required.
  • Must be able to safely work with ingredients and products that are derived from possibly allergenic sources including, but not limited to, nuts, soy, dairy, fish, and shellfish.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Must be able to work an entire 8 hour shift, when necessary, in an enclosed room.
  • Must be medically qualified to work while using a half-mask respirator or a full-air respirator for up to six hours at a time and be able to follow Thorne Research's Respiratory Protection Program guidelines.
  • Must be able to work in a stationary position as well as move about unassisted.
  • Must be able to safely and carefully operate and use assigned production equipment and machinery.
  • Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as circumstances arise during the course of a shift as well as climb a ladder unassisted.
  • Must be able to operate, activate, use, prepare, and clean production equipment, occasionally grasping with force and using twisting wrist movements, as well as climb a ladder unassisted.
  • Must have sufficient range of motion with arms and hands to reach overhead and to the side, often repetitively, during an 8-, 10-, or 12-hour shift.
  • Must be able to ascend/descend a ladder while carrying up to 20 pounds of material.
  • Must be able to print in a legible manner.
  • Must be able to work in a moderate noise level environment.
  • Must be able to move or lift items weighing up to 55 pounds from floor to table and from table to floor, often repetitively, during an 8-hour shift.
