API Heat Transfer is looking for people who enjoy being part of transformation. We have a new mission, new leaders, and are accelerating our path to Lean Cultural Change. Our Warehouse Team is in need of a new Material Handler/Water Spider.

Water Spider (Materials Runner) – Franklin, WI

Full-Time | On-site | non-exempt
Department: Materials - Warehouse
Reports To: Supply Chain Manager


About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and energetic Water Spider (Materials Runner) to support continuous material flow within our Franklin manufacturing facility. This role ensures that production operators have exactly what they need, materials, components, tools, and packaging—at the right time and in the right place.

If you enjoy hands-on work, staying active throughout your shift, and playing a crucial role in keeping production moving, this job is for you.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver raw materials, components, and packaging to production workstations on a timed route.
  • Replenish materials using Kanban signals, pick lists, and standard work instructions.
  • Remove empty containers, scrap, finished parts, and dunnage from work areas.
  • Stage and organize materials at Point-of-Use locations.
  • Operate pallet jacks, tuggers, and forklifts (training provided if needed).
  • Maintain accurate inventory by scanning materials and reporting discrepancies.
  • Support cycle counting and basic inventory control activities.
  • Maintain 5S standards in material storage and production areas.
  • Communicate shortages or material issues promptly to the Supply Chain team.
  • Follow all safety policies and maintain a clean, organized work environment.

What We’re Looking For

  • Prior experience in manufacturing, materials handling, or warehousing (preferred).
  • Ability to safely operate pallet jacks, carts, and forklifts (or willingness to learn).
  • Familiarity with Kanban or Lean principles is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to walk, push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
  • Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
