Job Summary:
The General Machine Operator is responsible for safely operating and maintaining assigned machinery to ensure efficient production and high-quality output. This role requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Operate manufacturing machines according to standard operating procedures and production schedules.
  • Monitor machine performance and product quality throughout the shift.
  • Perform basic machine setup, adjustments, and minor maintenance as needed.
  • Inspect parts for defects and ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Record production data such as quantities, downtime, and any quality issues.
  • Follow all company safety rules, lockout/tagout procedures, and PPE requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with company standards.
  • Communicate any mechanical issues, material shortages, or process concerns to the supervisor.
  • Assist with training of new operators when assigned.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to support efficiency and quality goals.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or machine operation role preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand work instructions, tape measure, and production orders.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
