Job description

Hunt Electric, Inc.is seeking a full time Electrical Planning Foreman to join our VDC Team. The Electrical Planning Foreman will assume the plan study and planning responsibilities during the preconstruction phase until a site superintendent is available for the project.


TheElectrical Planning Foreman will collaborate closely with superintendents after handoff reviewing construction documents, plans, specifications, submittals, and schedules to produce shop drawings, prefab details, and material take offs.


Major Duties:

  • Review and verify specifications and submittals.
  • Review and understand electrical drawings to produce buildable shop drawings.
  • Read and verify wiring schematics.
  • Draft details to show installation intentions using Bluebeam software.
  • Fill out necessary schedules and worksheets using Excel.
  • Complete work on time with high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to learn and adhere to detailing standards.
  • Collaborate with General Contractors, BIM Operators, Project Managers, Superintendents, Foreman, and Electrical Detailers.
  • Plan routes, material takeoffs, develop details, and track progress, of electrical projects.
  • Document project information and effectively communicate with others.
  • Quality control deliverables and provide and receive constructive feedback.
  • Ability to manage more than one project at a time.
  • Desire to contribute to improving standards and processes.
  • Actively contributes to a positive team environment.
  • Demonstrates dependability with regular attendance and complianceto scheduled work hours.
  • Demonstrate an aptitude for learning, goal-oriented mindset for continual growth, with a "Can-Do" positive attitude.
  • Other duties or locations as assigned by manager.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2+ Years as a Journeyman Electrician.
  • Experience on 2-3 projects as a Foreman or 2+ years as an Electrical Detailer.
  • Familiarity with BIM or Design/Build projects.
  • 2+ years' experience in electrical installation.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
  • Basic skills in Bluebeam.
  • Intermediate computer skills including Word and Excel.
  • Advanced working knowledge of National Electrical Code.
  • Competent in commercial electrical installation knowledge.
  • Strong reading and understanding construction plans and documentation.
  • Competent in reading and communication construction schedules.

This is a full-time position with a typical working schedule of Monday - Thursday 7:00am - 4:30pm and Friday 7:00am - 2:00pm
