Job description

As a Trimmer A (3-5 years Tree Service required), your key responsibilities are as follows: 


  • Travel with crew to supervise and engage in production at various locations. 
  • Drives trucks to assigned job sites, secures work area, barricades traffic as needed. (A CDL REQUIRED for this position)
  • Works as crew leader; assumes supervision and direction of the crew as necessary, planning work and instructing crew members.
  • Uses an aerial bucket, climbing equipment, chain saw, and other equipment in trimming, pruning, and removing of tree limbs and dead or diseased trees encroaching on power lines or other obstacles.
  • Pulls brush from trees as they are being trimmed; collects, drag, or chip brush.
  • Cleans up site after tree removal and trimming.
  • Carefully plans and executes trimming and removal to minimize the probability of damage to property.
  • Exercises teamwork as a crew member, watches clearances, assists in securing and roping down branches, watches, and directs traffic as needed, maintains public safety.
  •  Cleans up site after finishing trimming; hauls away branches, logs, and brush.
  • May contact property owners as needed to explain the trimming to be done, seek approval and resolve concerns and maintain safety of the property.
  • Performs routine preventive maintenance on equipment operated such as fueling/cleaning, checking oil/fluid levels, lubrication, inspecting tires, etc.
  • Performs other work which is consistent with the essential functions of the job.
  • Operates and maintains brush/tree chipper.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Job Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Pre-Employment Requirements:

  • Completing Timecards daily and accurately, and approving your teams (if/when applicable)

  • Driving any/all company vehicles safely and following all governing laws.

  • Lifting 50 lbs continuously

  • Skillfully able to train, operate, and maintain skid steer mower, bucket truck, chainsaw, chipper, and all related equipment.
