Description
Medical Associates Podiatry is seeking a caring, detail-oriented Clinical Assistant to join our team. In this role, you'll support our providers and patients by managing e-faxes, reviewing and organizing referrals, preparing charts, collecting important medical records, assisting with clinic flow, and performing other tasks as needed to keep our clinic running smoothly. No Podiatry Experience Required!
Primary schedule: Monday - Friday between 8:00am and 5:00pm, working approximately 40 hours per week.
Location: Dubuque, Iowa

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Assist with scheduling and rescheduling appointments. Process referrals and Message Center inquires in a timely manner.
  • Complete reminder calls and instructs patients regarding the procedure and any preparation necessary. Follow up on patients that have no showed or cancelled their appointments and keep communication with appropriate staff.
  • Assist with record collection and chart preparation. Connect with outside facilities if update records and/or clinic specific documentation needs to be collected prior to appointment(s). Distribute faxes, mail, and filing of clinic specific documents.
  • Monitor patient tracking reports and take appropriate action related to patient needs with direction from clinical staff and providers.
  • Perform direct patient care as directed by the podiatrist. Perform nail care procedures, including nail shaping and cuticle care.
  • Educate clients on proper nail care and aftercare for treatments
  • Document care provided, including but not limited to: procedures performed, patient education, and assist with integrity of medical records.
  • Maintain an office environment that is safe, organized and supplied with the necessary equipment, instruments, supplies and educational materials. Ensure equipment is functioning safely and properly. Perform cleaning and maintenance of equipment according to specified guidelines.
  • Complete all other assigned project and duties.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Education: High school diploma or GED required.
Experience: From three months to one year of similar or related experience.
