Job Description

Support Veterans through comprehensive psychiatric disability evaluations within an established clinical assessment environment. This role focuses on adult mental health evaluations, diagnostic assessments, and detailed clinical documentation supporting disability determination processes in a professionally managed healthcare setting.
Working within a multidisciplinary clinical team, the Psychiatrist provides independent mental health evaluations while contributing to coordinated, high-quality patient assessment workflows. This position is best suited for psychiatrists who value structured clinical practice, focused clinical evaluations, and clear documentation standards without ongoing treatment management responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Travel to established international clinical sites supporting Veteran evaluation services
  • Conduct comprehensive adult psychiatric evaluations through clinical interviews, observations, standardized assessments, and medical history review
  • Assess, diagnose, or rule out psychiatric conditions using current DSM criteria while documenting findings through structured disability evaluation processes
  • Complete detailed clinical documentation, Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs), and case submissions within established quality and turnaround expectations
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support coordinated evaluation workflows and continuity of assessment services
  • Maintain accurate medical records and uphold clinical quality, patient confidentiality, and professional practice standards within an established healthcare environment
Qualifications

Requirements

  • MD or DO from an accredited institution required
  • Current unrestricted Psychiatry license in the U.S., U.S. Territory, or Canada required
  • Board certified or board eligible in Psychiatry required
  • Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification required
  • 2+ years of full-time experience practicing as a Psychiatrist required
  • Experience providing adult psychiatry evaluations and applying current DSM criteria required
  • Valid U.S. Passport or Passport from Country of Record required
  • Ability to complete documentation and case submission requirements within established 48-hour turnaround timelines

Preferred

  • Previous experience supporting disability evaluations or compensation and pension examinations
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary or government healthcare environments
  • Strong independent assessment, documentation, and clinical decision-making skills
