Description
Director of Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) - Traveling Clinical Leadership Role
The IMA Group is seeking a full-time Director of Speech-Language Pathology to support and oversee disability assessment services throughout New York State. This leadership role combines clinical expertise, provider mentorship, operational support, and hands-on participation in speech-language evaluations.
This opportunity is ideal for an experienced SLP who enjoys assessment-focused work and leadership responsibilities without the demands of ongoing therapy, treatment planning, or caseload management. The Director will split time between conducting evaluations and supporting the growth, development, and oversight of the SLP program.
Travel: Approximately 75% throughout Upstate New York with occasional coverage in select Downstate locations.
Preferred Home Base: Syracuse, NY or Albany, NY
Compensation: $115,000-$125,000 annually, based on experience, plus bonus opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct pediatric speech and language disability evaluations
  • Provide clinical leadership, mentorship, and support to Speech-Language Pathology providers
  • Assist with onboarding, training, quality assurance, and provider development initiatives
  • Collaborate with operational and clinical leadership to ensure consistent evaluation standards and best practices
  • Balance direct clinical responsibilities with director-level leadership duties
  • Travel to clinic locations as needed to support provider coverage, training, and program growth
  • Complete accurate and timely assessment documentation

Qualifications
  • Active New York State Speech-Language Pathology license required
  • Minimum of 3 years of Speech-Language Pathology experience required
  • Previous leadership, mentoring, training, or supervisory experience preferred
  • Experience supporting multiple locations and/or working in a travel-based role preferred
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize competing responsibilities, and effectively manage time across clinical and leadership functions
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to obtain Pennsylvania licensure preferred
