Are you an RN who sees the power of technology to transform patient care? Home of the Innocents is seeking an RN, Clinical Informatics Nurse to optimize our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, train our team, and leverage data to drive care quality at the Kosair for Kids Complex Care Center. In this pivotal role, you'll sit at the intersection of clinical expertise and digital innovation, shaping how our team delivers safe, compliant, and resident-centered care.
A Day in the Life
The RN, Clinical Informatics Nurse leads all aspects of EHR coordination and optimization under the direction of the Director of Clinical Compliance. You'll collaborate with Nursing leadership, Health Information Management, physicians, external EHR representatives, and the interdisciplinary team to ensure accurate documentation, maximum EHR utilization, and care that meets or exceeds federal, state, local, and facility standards.
Schedule: Full-time, on-site role. Primarily Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM with occasional evening or weekends for special projects.
How This Position Contributes to Our Mission
  • Lead and optimize EHR use to support resident-centered care, including care planning, MDS integration, medication management, and regulatory documentation
  • Train and support team members on health information systems, reducing documentation burden and improving clinical workflows
  • Ensure HIPAA compliance through regular audits, resident information safeguarding, and survey readiness support
  • Lead implementation and integration of healthcare technologies (eMAR, telehealth, monitoring systems, mobile tools) to enhance resident safety and care delivery
  • Analyze clinical and operational data to identify trends and drive quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) initiatives
  • Collaborate across disciplines to align EHR structure with comprehensive care plans and continuously improve documentation processes

Skills and Qualifications
Required:
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing; unencumbered RN license in Kentucky
  • Minimum two (2) years of RN experience in acute or long-term care
  • Experience customizing and optimizing EHR/eHR software application systems
  • Strong knowledge of long-term care standards, regulatory guidance, and health information documentation requirements
  • Current CPR/BLS certification (provided if needed)
