Job description

Description
The College of Pharmacy at The University of Texas at Austin is dedicated to providing exemplary education, training, research, and professional development for Pharm.D. students, graduate students, and postgraduates; to advance discovery, innovation, and patient care. To help advance this mission, we are seeking a distinguished applicant to fill one professional-track (non-tenure), clinical faculty position at the rank of assistant or associate professor (depending on qualifications) for a full-time Pediatrics faculty position. This position is located in Austin, Texas, and will be co-funded (50/50) with Dell Children's Medical Center (DCMC) and the College of Pharmacy at The University of Texas at Austin, with a practice site at DCMC.
Dell Children's in Austin, Texas is a 299-bed academic facility with a level 1 Trauma designation and national ranking in 7 specialties. The practice site provides a wide variety of pediatric acute care, including cardiology, neurology, oncology, surgical, maternal-fetal medicine, heart and kidney transplantation, and advanced critical care treatment, including extracorporeal membrane oxygenation.
The successful applicant will facilitate practice laboratories, provide classroom instruction, mentor, and supervise clinical clerkships for students in the Pharm.D. program. Clinical service that supports resident and Pharm.D. student education as well as the goals of the DCMC pharmacy department is expected. Faculty members will provide service to the college, hospital, university, and broader professional community and will contribute to the operational success of the Pharmacy Department, as appropriate. The primary practice focus of this position will be in alignment with candidate interests and departmental priorities at Dell Children's Medical Center. Potential practice areas include, but are not limited to, inpatient internal medicine, inpatient cardiology, and/or outpatient specialty care (e.g. anticoagulation). The faculty member will be expected to supervise pharmacy students and residents to help them learn to care for hospitalized pediatric patients with acute and chronic conditions. The successful individual will have interests in developing interprofessional collaborations to advance pharmacy practice, research, and scholarship.
Qualifications
Candidates must: have an earned Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy; be licensed or be eligible for licensure in the State of Texas; have successfully completed a Pediatric PGY-1 and PGY-2 specialty practice residency (preferred) or equivalent experience by the start date (by August 1, 2026); and be able to demonstrate effective teaching.
Application Instructions
Interested persons should include a cover letter, a detailed curriculum vitae, and three (3) confidential letters of recommendation. Review of applications will continue until position is filled, with a priority application date of March 8, 2026.
