Full Time Databricks Developers are professionals who specialize in using the Databricks platform to process, analyze, and manage big data. They build and maintain data pipelines, develop ETL processes, and work with tools such as Apache Spark, Python, and SQL to turn raw data into actionable insights. These developers often collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders to implement scalable data solutions. Working full time means they are dedicated employees, typically with responsibilities that include troubleshooting data issues, optimizing performance, and ensuring data security within the Databricks environment.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a full time Databricks developer?

To thrive as a Full Time Databricks Developer, you need expertise in data engineering, Spark programming, and proficiency in languages like Python or Scala, often backed by a degree in computer science or related fields. Familiarity with Databricks platform, Azure or AWS cloud services, and certifications such as Databricks Certified Data Engineer are commonly expected. Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and effective collaboration skills help you stand out in this role. These skills ensure efficient data processing, reliable pipeline development, and seamless teamwork for delivering scalable analytics solutions.

Job description

Lead — Data & Analytics

Location: Addison, TX | On-site, 5 days/week
Type: Full-time

About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on Principal — Data & Analytics to be the senior technical voice for our data platform: the architect, the standard-setter, the engineer who builds the data foundation our next decade runs on.

This is a Principal IC role — architecture and execution, not management.

What You'll Do

  • Define and execute the data platform strategy across modern cloud data warehouses and lakehouses (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, SQL Server) — ingestion, transformation, governance
  • Architect a single source of truth for enterprise KPIs, operational reporting, and AI-ready datasets
  • Set engineering standards: data modeling, SQL discipline, dbt patterns, testing, lineage, observability
  • Partner with the Data Manager and engineering team — provide technical depth, mentorship, and architectural leadership
  • Own data governance in a regulated environment: sensitive data handling, access controls, audit trails, masking, retention
  • Bridge to BI and AI: model the data layer that powers both reporting and AI/ML workloads
  • Modernize legacy reporting patterns into scalable analytics infrastructure

What We're Looking For

  • 10+ years in data engineering and analytics; 4+ years at Principal / Staff / Lead Architect level
  • Deep expertise across modern cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, SQL Server), SQL, Python, dbt, and modern ELT patterns
  • Strong data modeling fundamentals — dimensional, Data Vault, or equivalent
  • Experience designing data platforms in HIPAA, SOC 2, or similarly regulated environments
  • Healthcare or regulated-industry experience strongly preferred
  • Track record of leading by architecture and example
