Intermediate Level (2-4 Years Experience)
Location: DMV Area (Washington DC, Maryland, Virginia)
Work Type: Full-Time | On-site or Hybrid (based on contract requirements)

Overview

Navteca is seeking skilled professionals to provide Database Management Support for enterprise environments. This role focuses on the implementation, maintenance, monitoring, and performance tuning of databases across both UNIX and Windows platforms.

The ideal candidate will have experience with Oracle and SQL-based systems and will contribute to the design and support of enterprise database architectures, including environments supporting SAP systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support enterprise database implementation, administration, and maintenance
  • Assist in the development and optimization of database server architecture
  • Install, configure, and maintain Oracle RDBMS and related software
  • Monitor database and server performance, ensuring high availability and reliability
  • Perform database tuning and optimization of instance parameters for peak performance
  • Support database environments across UNIX and Windows platforms
  • Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and SAP teams to ensure seamless integration
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database performance and operational issues
  • Ensure compliance with Fairfax County standards and best practices

Core Skills & Technologies

Work Location & Schedule

  • On-site or hybrid depending on contract requirements
  • Primary location: Fairfax County Government Center
    12000 Government Center Parkway, Fairfax, VA 22035
  • Standard hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (30-minute lunch)
  • May require participation in an on-call rotation
  • Must adhere to Fairfax County and/or FCPS holiday and inclement weather policies

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to work on-site at County or approved offsite locations as needed
  • Time worked outside approved hours is not billable
  • Timesheets must be submitted for all work performed
  • Staff may not perform work for other clients during assigned County hours
