Job description

Position Summary

Acuren is currently recruiting for QA/QC to support our operations in Austin, TX. 

the Quality Assurance and Quality Control Reviews all field reports from technician prior to submitting to clients. Uses superior analytical, and critical thinking skills to ensure that all client Pipeline Integrity Procedures have been adhered to and that all client specific reporting requirements have been met prior to final report submission to the client.

Responsibilities
  • Review reports and data from technicians and inspector for accuracy and compliance 
    • Tasks may be client specific 
  • Generating quality metrics for reporting 
    • Utilize customer rating systems to assign values 
    • Utilize progress tracking systems (internal and external) to provide up to date status of reports 
  • Technical support for Creaform system 
    • Provide hardware and software assistance with Creaform laser 
    • Perform data analysis from the Creaform laser for external corrosion and deformation 
    • Assist customer's operations procedures questions 

    Other work duties as assigned.  

    Requirements

    The position requires sound knowledge and understanding in the following areas: 

    • Knowledge of NDT industry methods (MT, PT, UT)  
    • Knowledge of client specific reporting needs 
    • Knowledge of inline inspection data (tool data tat runs through pipelines) is a plus 
    • Coating and cathodic protection is a plus 

    The position requires the following skills and abilities: 

    • MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) 
    • Industry software (e.g. Creaform Pipecheck) 
    • Technical writing skills 
    • Effective verbal communication skills 
    • Strong attention to detail to identify numerical and visual anomalies  

    EDUCATION: 

    The position requires high school diploma or equivalent as well as a minimum of 3 years of experience in a quality review capacity. Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.

    Working Conditions
    • Extreme cold and extreme heat environmental conditions, in and near hazards to include proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places in excess of 100 feet, exposure to high heat, extreme cold, or exposure to chemicals, in conditions that affect the respiratory system or the skin such as fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.  
    • Adaptable to changing schedules with willingness to travel regularly, including last minute and overnight travel.  Must be willing to overtime. 

    PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS & DEMANDS: 

    • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly, and occasionally up to 75 pounds. 
    • Must be able to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolds, stairs and work in confined spaces and in proximity to loud equipment 
    • Ability to stand, walk, and climb for extended periods 
    • Ability to bend, kneel, and crouch as needed 
    • Sufficient balance and mobility to navigate various surfaces and elevations 
    • Sufficient hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for operating equipment and handling tools  
    • Ability to reach overhead and at various body heights 
    • Adequate vision (with or without correction) for detailed work 
    • Adequate hearing (with or without aids) to detect audible equipment indicators or alarms 
    • Ability to wear and operate required personal protective equipment (PPE)
