Job Title: High School Counselor.
School Type: K-12 Public Charter School.
Location: North Carolina.
Employment Type: Full-Time 7:30am-.4:00pm M-F, Occasional nights and weekend as needed (11 month position)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and student-centered High School Counselor to support the academic, social-emotional, and college/career development of students in grades 9-12. The ideal candidate is proactive, collaborative, and committed to helping all students achieve success in a diverse K-12 charter school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individual and group counseling focused on academic planning, personal development, and postsecondary readiness.
  • Develop and monitor student graduation plans aligned with North Carolina requirements.
  • Assist students with college applications, scholarships, financial aid (FAFSA), and career exploration.
  • Coordinate standardized testing (e.g., ACT, SAT, AP) and interpret results with students and families.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student success and well-being.
  • Maintain accurate student records and ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines.
  • Deliver classroom guidance lessons on topics such as study skills, mental health, and career readiness.
  • Identify and support at-risk students through intervention plans and referrals.
  • Partner with community organizations and postsecondary institutions.
  • Contribute to a positive school culture aligned with the mission of a Kโ€“12 charter school.
Qualifications:
