Project Overview:

Bechtel is building a semiconductor manufacturing plant in New Albany, Ohio. We are partnering with the North America Building Trades Unions and suppliers to create several thousand new jobs and work with local education organizations to implement new training programs that will support the future talent pipeline. Bechtel Manufacturing & Technology, Inc. offers engineering, procurement, and construction services for customers in the semiconductor manufacturing, electric vehicle, and data center markets. Headquartered in Reston, Virginia, the M&T global business unit also includes colleagues working in Arizona, Ohio, Texas, India, and additional project locations around the world.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will support a project by performing technical or commercial logistics work. You will be responsible for domestic and international multi-leg shipments, ensuring safe, timely, and economical delivery of goods to meet project requirements. You will assist the project logistics lead with shipment tracking, performance metrics, audits, and logistics studies to ensure project requirements are met. #LI-RG1

Major Responsibilities:
  • Performs domestic and international multi-leg shipment responsibilities in support of project requirements to ensure the safe, timely, and economical delivery of goods to meet project requirements 
  • Prepares logistics reports or performance metrics as required to satisfy project information requirements 
  • Identifies transport cost and service alternatives to support materials/equipment purchase decisions and use of Logistics Service Providers 
  • Prepares Logistics Service Provider commercial bid tabs, commitment authorizations and contract documents 
  • Prepare logistics studies including site and Logistics Service Provider facility visits 
  • Coordinates shipments with requisite internal and external entities 
  • Ensure timely entry of shipment tracking data into Oracle Transportation (OTM) to provide visibility shipment status 
  • Ensures timely audit and processing of Logistics service provider invoices in accordance with project procedures 
  • Assists the project Logistics lead as requested. 
  • Integrates safety requirements and measures in all Logistics activities.   
Education and Experience Requirements:
  •  Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) in a relevant field and 2-4 years of relevant experience or 5-7 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree. 
Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • Understanding of Legal Over-the-Road trucking, international container shipping 
  • Familiarity with international transport compliance and documentation regulations/procedures  
  • Microsoft Products: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook 
  • Willingness to learn
