Position Overview

We are seeking experienced, traveling Superintendents to oversee field operations on our projects nationwide. This role is responsible for managing all on-site construction activities for a dedicated project, ensuring compliance with project plans, schedules, safety regulations, and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial construction and be able to effectively coordinate subcontractors, inspections, and project progress.

Key Responsibilities

  • Obtain necessary permits, file the Notice of Commencement, and update local business licenses.
  • Attend pre-construction meetings and coordinate acceptance of tenant spaces.
  • Verify lease dimensions and conduct pre-construction meetings with subcontractors.
  • Lead weekly safety meetings and ensure OSHA compliance in case of injuries/incidents.
  • Oversee construction progress, coordinating with architects, clients, project managers, and subcontractors.
  • Ensure compliance with construction codes and coordinate required inspections with local authorities.
  • Manage the scheduling and delivery of owner-supplied materials and vendor work.
  • Provide regular project updates to the project manager, including subcontractor progress and change order accuracy.
  • Compile and submit daily progress reports with photos for client review.
  • Address plan conflicts related to site conditions, local codes, and ADA requirements.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with landlord construction rules.
  • Ensure high-quality construction standards and conduct final inspections, including Fire Marshal inspections.
  • Obtain the Certificate of Occupancy and coordinate the clientโ€™s punch list walkthrough.
  • Oversee completion of all punch list items and facilitate project handover.
  • Prepare and submit all closeout documentation to the office.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Must have commercial construction superintendent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of construction procedures and the International Building Code (IBC).
  • Proven ability to schedule and coordinate multiple subcontractors efficiently within tight timeframes.
  • Excellent multitasking and prioritization skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Willingness to work additional hours as needed to meet project deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • High emotional intelligence and the ability to maintain professionalism under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PDF tools, PowerPoint, project management software, and critical path scheduling.
