What You'll Do
As a Fire Sprinkler Designer / CAD Drafter, you'll play a critical role in protecting people and property by producing accurate, code-compliant system designs that support our Fire Protection and Low Voltage teams.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Embody State Systems' mission of protecting life and property in every project.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures using AutoCAD and other CAD platforms.
  • Prepare project drawings, specifications, and schematics.
  • Design layouts, perform field checks, create fabrication listings, material and equipment submittals, calculations, installation requirements, and close-out documentation.
  • Ensure all designs comply with NFPA standards and maintain scope of company obligations.
  • Support both Fire Protection and Low Voltage projects.
  • Coordinate with project managers to ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and local codes.
  • Interact professionally with customers, vendors, and coworkers.
  • Utilize Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook for documentation and communication.
  • Maintain organization, accuracy, and efficiency across multiple projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
  • 2+ years of CAD experience.
  • 2+ years using Windows-based AutoCAD design software.
  • 1-2 years of Fire Sprinkler / Life Safety design experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook (2+ years).
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional communication skills and collaborative mindset.
  • Ability to work seated at a desk for a standard eight-hour workday.
