ECG operates Everett's only community garden, farm, and farm stand, engages youth ages 14-20 through its Youth Crew, and leads a range of civic and community-based initiatives.

About the RoleThe
Community Organizing & Advocacy Manager plays a key role in turning community energy into action. This person will mobilize Everett residents to advocate for their neighborhoods, build leadership pathways, and strengthen community power.
You'll partner closely with residents, community leaders, and local stakeholders to ensure development in Everett benefits those who live here today-while helping to build a strong, organized base of advocates ready to take action.
What You'll DoCommunity Leadership & Mobilization- Co-lead the Resident Researcher (RR) Team alongside the Associate Director of Research & Evaluation
- Facilitate team meetings, onboarding, and leadership development opportunities
- Recruit and support resident leaders, helping them grow from engagement to advocacy
- Foster an inclusive, welcoming environment for community collaboration
- Manage team logistics including project planning, delegation, and administrative tasks
Advocacy & Partnerships- Represent ECG in Community Benefits Agreement (CBA) negotiations and advocacy efforts
- Build relationships with residents, nonprofits, developers, and local/state leaders
- Draft public comments, testimony, and other advocacy materials
- Stay informed on local policy and ensure advocacy reflects community needs
Community Outreach & Engagement- Strengthen and evolve ECG's community engagement strategies
- Partner on multilingual outreach and promotion efforts
- Support planning and execution of community events and initiatives
What We're Looking For- 2-5 years of experience in community organizing, volunteer management, or public policy advocacy
- Strong facilitation, relationship-building, and communication skills
- Experience managing projects or teams and delegating work effectively
- Ability to translate complex policy topics into accessible content
- High attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and adaptability
- Comfort working both independently and collaboratively
Preferred:- Multilingual (Spanish, Portuguese, or Haitian Creole)
- Local to Everett or surrounding communities (Chelsea, Malden, Medford, Revere)
- Passion for food justice, racial equity, and community-led change
