1st Shift (Monday-Friday 7:00 am-3:30 pm)

POSITION OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE

A Shipping & Receiving Clerk certifies and keeps records on incoming and/or outgoing items.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

  • Check bills of lading for accuracy.
  • Coordinate shipping and/or receiving operations with Warehouse Lead.
  • Fill in shipping and/or receiving tally documents.
  • Organize “mail slots” with proper paperwork.
  • Schedule shipping and/or receiving appointments.
  • Fold lot stickers as they print for receiving as necessary.
  • Apply lot stickers to both front and back of received pallet as necessary.
  • Execute all safety procedures and standards regarding the storage and receipt of goods.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as needed.
  • Process all inbound and outbound orders as trucks arrive and depart warehouse.
  • Generate all paperwork/information required for customer work orders including responding to and checking status of special requests, expediting orders where necessary, tracking orders and posting inventory records.
  • Communicate between customer and warehouse operations concerning the customer’s account/inventory.
  • Update the DMS (Dock Management System) in a timely manner.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school graduate or general education degree (GED) from an accredited institution, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic reading, legible writing and arithmetic skills required.
  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Communication skills.
  • Comfortable working independently or as a team.
