Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Coil Winder to join our manufacturing team. Key Responsibilities

  • Machine Operation: Set up, adjust, and operate manual, semi-automatic, or CNC coil winding machines.
  • Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and engineering schematics to determine exact specifications (e.g., wire gauge, number of turns, tension).
  • Material Loading: Load wire spools and insulation material onto machinery; monitor tension and alignment during production.
  • Component Finishing: Cut, strip, splice, bend, and solder or braze wire leads using hand tools and soldering irons.
  • Quality Control: Inspect finished coils for defects and use micrometers, calipers, or multimeters to verify dimensions and electrical continuity.
  • Maintenance & Cleanliness: Perform basic routine maintenance on machines and maintain a clean, organized workstation.
  • Safety Adherence: Follow all company safety protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma, GED, or vocational school certificate.
  • Experience: 1–5 years of experience in manufacturing, assembly, or machine operation preferred (willing to train the right candidate).
  • Technical Skills: Basic shop math skills and the ability to read technical drawings and work orders.
  • Dexterity: Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for handling fine wires and small tools.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, perform repetitive tasks, and lift up to [e.g., 40 lbs].
  • Attention to Detail: High precision to ensure wire turns match exact engineering requirements without overlapping or breaking.

Work Environment & Benefits

  • Job Type: Full-time, Day Shift
  • Location: On-site in San Antonio
  • Compensation: $18.00 - $30.00 Pending on experience
