Job description

As part of Risk Management and Compliance, you are at the center of keeping JPMorganChase (JPMC) strong and resilient. You help the firm grow its business in a responsible way by anticipating new and emerging risks, and using your expert judgement to solve real-world challenges that impact our company, customers and communities. Our culture in Risk Management and Compliance is all about thinking outside the box, challenging the status quo and striving to be best-in-class.

As a Risk Management - Climate, Nature, and Social Risk Analyst in the Climate, Nature and Social (CN&S) Risk team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the firm's approach to managing CN&S risks. JPMC is committed to understanding how climate change may drive or influence the risks we identify and manage. This includes evaluating how our business and the activities of our clients and customers could be impacted through transition and/or physical risks driven by climate change. The Firm's dedicated Climate, Nature and Social (CN&S) Risk team, which is led by our Firmwide Risk Executive for Climate Risk, is responsible for establishing the firmwide framework and strategy for climate risk management, developing and advancing climate risk policy and standards, and building our approach to climate risk data. The CN&S Risk team collaborates with stakeholders across the Firm to integrate climate considerations into line-of-business risk management frameworks.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter with impeccable attention to detail, capable of articulating their thoughts clearly both verbally and in written communications. They will collaborate with various internal global stakeholders, using your sharp skills in research and communications to build the CN&S intelligence capabilities of the team and deliver critical insights to inform the development of CN&S models, frameworks, and risk management capabilities. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a rapidly evolving field within the financial services industry, with high focus and visibility within J.P. Morgan.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop high-quality presentations and written materials for various internal stakeholders, working groups, and senior management forums, mastering effective communication of technical and quantitative information on CN&S risk topics for senior audiences.
  • Strategically align the firm's public climate-related statements and disclosures to industry reporting and regulatory disclosure requirements (i.e. ISSB/TCFD, CSRD) with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Stay informed on emerging CN&S risk topics, regulatory developments, and trends, including conducting data-driven, tailored research and peer benchmarking on CN&S topics affecting the firm's portfolio and produce insightful summaries for enhanced risk management.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure clear understanding of CN&S risk capabilities, quantify CN&S risks across lines of business and risk management teams, and identify areas of collaboration aligned with key priorities.
  • Manage CN&S-related projects to ensure timely and successful execution, coordinating with relevant teams and stakeholders.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor's degree in economics, public policy, communications or a related field with a strong background or interest in CN&S topics.
  • Ability to synthesize technical information and extract key messages clearly, accurately, and succinctly to communicate to senior audiences.
  • Familiarity with financial institutions and the ability to interpret climate-related financial risk.
  • Sharp critical thinking and problem-solving skills with a strong sense of ownership and ability to work independently to produce deliverables with high standards and within tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills with demonstrated experience creating high-impact presentations and briefs.
  • Demonstrated ability using LLM/AI tools to improve analysis and insights.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Minimum 1+ years of experience in financial services industry.
  • Experience in a previous climate-risk related role, such as climate risk consulting.
