Compensation: $225,000 – $275,000 total compensation potential


About the Opportunity

We are recruiting for a Senior Employment Law Attorney to join a well-established Northern California law firm. This role focuses on representing and advising employers on complex employment law matters while also handling high-level litigation including class actions and PAGA matters.

The position offers the opportunity to work with sophisticated employer clients across multiple industries while collaborating with a respected employment law team known for strong litigation capability and practical legal guidance.


Position Overview

The Senior Employment Law Attorney will advise employer clients on the full spectrum of employment law issues and handle litigation matters from strategy through resolution. The role includes client counseling, courtroom advocacy, business development, and mentoring junior attorneys.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic counsel and representation in employment law litigation

  • Defend employers against FEHA and Title VII claims

  • Handle wage and hour disputes, including class actions and PAGA matters

  • Represent clients in court, arbitration, and before administrative agencies such as EEOC, CRD, and DLSE

  • Handle trade secret and unfair competition disputes

  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships

  • Participate in business development and contribute to practice growth

  • Present employment law trainings and seminars for clients

  • Supervise and mentor associates


Required Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school

  • Active membership in the State Bar of California

  • Minimum of 8 years of employment law litigation experience

  • Experience defending employers in FEHA, Title VII, wage & hour, and PAGA matters

  • Strong litigation, negotiation, and analytical skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment


Preferred Experience

  • Experience representing clients before administrative agencies

  • Partial portable book of business

  • Experience supervising junior attorneys

  • Background advising employers on compliance and workforce strategy
