SeniorElectricalEngineer (Oil & Gas)About the Position

AsaSenior ElectricalEngineerin theOil & Gasgroup,you will be responsible forperforming engineering design and analysis under the responsible charge of a Professional Engineer in a manner that provides the client with a quality deliverable that is on time and within budget.

Salary Range:$125,000 - $175,000 / year

The salary range above is based upon the Denver, Colorado labor market.

This opportunity isonlyavailable tocandidateslocatedwithin the Odessa/Midland, TX area. Candidates can work remotely from this geographical location.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Perform detailed design of all aspects of electrical power systems to include one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, control and relaying schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, grounding design, general arrangement, selection of equipment, writing of equipment specifications, project and construction cost estimates, and project schedulingas they relate to Substationsand otherpower projects

  • Prepare computer-based models and perform power system studies on utility and industrial/commercial electrical power transmission and distribution systems, including short circuit, load flow, relay coordination, arc flash, motor starting, power factor, harmonicanalysisand other related studies. Employeeshould create asimple hand checkto quantify the computer aided results.

  • Develop protective relay settings. Set, test, wire, and install relaying and control systems.

  • Prepare a variety of documents and reports associated with projects including cost estimates, budget reports, proposals, and studies.

  • Assist with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) as well as other commissioning activities

  • Provideoccasionalfieldassistanceand troubleshooting

  • Checking the work of designers, drafters, and field service personnel forgeneral qualityand accuracy asrequired

  • Assistswith client contacts and communicationpertaining tospecific assignments and meetingsin-person and remotely

  • Supports business development via Seller-Doer,assistswith marketing tasks, and prepares proposals as needed

  • Assistswithestablishingand managing engineering budget and scope expectations.

  • Prepare technical write-up for applicable change orders

  • Reviews submittals for conformance with client specifications and design

  • Attends safety training and follow safety rules and guidelines

  • Worksadditionaltime beyond40 hours/week to complete projects,proposalsand/or administrative functions, asrequired

  • Maintains strong and responsive Company-Client relationships, particularly for communicationpertaining tospecific assignments and meeting topics

  • Attends conferences, training workshops, seminars, regular undergraduate, and graduate classes asappropriate foradvancement and asrequiredtomaintainquality of work

  • Maintains high ethical and professional standardswhile showing strong judgement

  • Maintains professional understanding of all applicable Codes and Standards, and construction practices

  • Reviews and verifies the work of engineers, designers, drafters, and field service personnel forgeneral qualityand accuracy

  • Provides fieldassistance, troubleshooting, and observation reports

  • Checking the work of designers, drafters, and field service personnel forgeneral qualityand accuracy asrequired

  • Other duties as assigned

Must Have
  • Education:Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technologyfrom an accredited institution, electric poweroptionpreferred

  • Experience:7+years of relevant engineering or field experience

  • Licensure:FEisrequired; PE preferred

  • Knowledge and familiarity with medium and low voltage distribution

  • Base knowledge of Protection & Control Schemes

  • Knowledge and familiarity withsubstation electrical design

  • Proficiencywithpower system studies software such as PSSE, PSCAD, ETAP, SKM

  • Previousexperience coordinating and managingprojects with keyclients, customers,contractorsand others

  • Familiarity with the Oil & Gas market sector

  • Assistwith client contacts and communicationpertaining tospecific assignments and meetingsboth remotely and in-person

  • Possesses effective written and oral communications skills

  • Good interpersonal and people skills

  • Self-starter with strong initiative

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
