Job description

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Director of Pharmacy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A healthcare facility in Nacogdoches, TX, is seeking an experienced Interim Director of Pharmacy to provide leadership for their inpatient acute care pharmacy services. This contract opportunity requires a Texas state license and pharmacy-in-charge (PIC) designation. The position offers a Monday through Friday day shift schedule, with no weekend or on-call responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all administrative functions of the pharmacy department, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Lead staffing efforts, including coordination and supervision of pharmacy personnel.
  • Maintain high-quality patient care through effective management and implementation of pharmacy practices.
  • Coordinate pharmacy inservices and educational programs for staff development.
  • Utilize Cerner/Siemens order entry systems and Omnicell automation in daily operations.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Active Texas pharmacist license and PIC certification.
  • Proven leadership and management experience in an acute care inpatient pharmacy setting.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance and quality assurance processes.
  • Proficiency with Cerner/Siemens order entry systems and Omnicell automation.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and team coordination skills.

Facility and Team Details:

  • Staff includes one Clinical Pharmacist, four PRN Pharmacists, five full-time Certified Pharmacy Technicians, and three PRN Certified Pharmacy Technicians.
  • Acute care environment with a focus on quality patient outcomes.
  • Business casual dress code.

Schedule:

  • Monday โ€“ Friday, day shift (40 hours per week)
  • No weekend or on-call duties required
