Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Summary

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Cattleman to assist with the daily management and care of cattle operations. This role is responsible for monitoring herd health, supporting breeding and calving activities, managing grazing areas, and helping maintain overall farm operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on livestock experience, basic mechanical skills, and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while supporting the productivity and wellbeing of the herd.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Feed and provide water to cattle on a daily basis to ensure proper nutrition and care
  • Observe livestock to identify signs of illness, injury, or changes in behavior
  • Administer vaccinations, medications, and other treatments as directed
  • Assist with breeding operations, calving, and the care of newborn calves
  • Monitor and manage grazing areas to maintain healthy pasture conditions
  • Inspect, repair, and maintain fences, gates, and ranch facilities
  • Maintain accurate records related to herd health, breeding activity, and treatments
  • Ensure proper manure handling and waste management practices are followed
  • Move or transport cattle between pastures, barns, or sale locations as needed
  • Provide support, direction, and oversight to ranch or farm workers when required
  • Follow established biosecurity practices to help protect herd health
  • Coordinate with veterinarians and other agricultural professionals regarding animal care and herd management

Qualifications & Skills

  • Previous experience working with cattle or livestock operations preferred
  • Knowledge of livestock care, nutrition, and herd management practices
  • Experience operating agricultural equipment and ranch tools
  • Understanding of cattle health management and preventative care practices
  • Ability to operate farm machinery and perform basic property maintenance tasks
  • Experience supervising or coordinating with farm staff is a plus
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with pasture management and rotational grazing practices
