Jewelry Caster

Location: New Orleans, LA Employment Type: Full-Time

Do you have a passion for precision and craftsmanship in precious metals? We are seeking an experienced Jewelry Caster to join our production team. This is a hands-on role working with sterling silver and gold, where technical expertise and attention to detail are key to delivering exceptional results.

What You'll Do

  • Perform all aspects of the lost-wax casting process: investing, casting, de-vesting, graining, and alloying.
  • Cast with sterling silver and gold, ensuring accuracy and consistency in all pieces.
  • Operate and maintain casting equipment, wax equipment, and molds.
  • Manage mold inventory and wax production, including scheduling wax pulling operations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve quality issues, identifying improvements to enhance production efficiency.
  • Collect and maintain production records and data.
  • Collaborate with the manufacturing team to meet deadlines and quality standards.
  • Assist in developing and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 5 years' experience casting precious metals (silver and gold).
  • Expert knowledge of sterling silver metallurgy and lost-wax casting.
  • Proficiency in mold making (vulcanized and cold molds) and wax pulling.
  • Experience with modern casting machinery; familiarity with Neutec Autocasting Machines or other induction vacuum casting machines a plus.
  • Knowledge of 3D modeling, printing, and castable resin processes a plus.
  • Ability to perform routine maintenance on casting and wax equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy in calculations, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience writing and revising Standard Operating Procedures.
  • General computer proficiency for production recordkeeping.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing experience preferred.
