Gateway Physical Therapy is actively seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our esteemed team in Gunnison, Colorado. Work Environment

Located within a hospital setting, our rehabilitation clinic boasts a supportive and dynamic environment where teamwork is paramount. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team consisting of Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and other healthcare professionals, all dedicated to enhancing patient care. The clinic operates Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional flexibility needed to accommodate patient schedules.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Physical Therapists in developing and executing individualized treatment plans that target improved mobility and strength for patients.
  • Engage patients during therapy sessions, guiding them through therapeutic exercises, stretches, and activities designed to alleviate pain and enhance physical well-being.
  • Educate patients on essential body mechanics and effective exercise techniques, ensuring they understand their home exercise programs for continued recovery.
  • Administer therapeutic modalities such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and heat/cold therapy under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
  • Monitor and document patient progress meticulously, tracking gains in range of motion, strength, and functional performance.
  • Organize treatment areas and ensure that equipment and supplies are well-maintained and readily available for therapy sessions.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient care, improving rehabilitation outcomes through unified efforts.
  • Provide emotional support and motivation to patients, fostering a positive atmosphere throughout their rehabilitation journey.
  • Adhere strictly to ethical and professional standards, maintaining an environment of confidentiality and respect for all patient rights.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Qualifications
  • A completed Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
