Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist Assistant at Gateway Physical Therapy, your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting licensed Physical Therapists in executing personalized treatment plans aimed at enhancing patient mobility, strength, and functionality.
  • Guiding patients through specified therapeutic exercises, stretches, and activities, promoting physical well-being while alleviating their pain.
  • Educating patients on body mechanics, exercise routines, and home exercise programs to foster their independence and expedite recovery.
  • Delivering modalities such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound treatments, and heat/cold therapy under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.
  • Monitoring and documenting patient progress meticulously, including tracking improvements in range of motion, strength, and overall function.
  • Preparing treatment areas and ensuring that therapy equipment and supplies are well-organized and accessible.
  • Collaborating with a diverse team of healthcare professionals, including Occupational Therapists and Speech-Language Pathologists, to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
  • Providing emotional support to patients, inspiring confidence and motivation throughout their rehabilitation journey.
  • Maintaining a high standard of ethical practice by preserving patient privacy and adhering to professional regulations.
