  • Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives that can be translated into scholarly research, publications, and external funding opportunities.

  • Participate in clinical, translational, and population-based cardiovascular research projects.

  • Contribute to manuscript preparation, scientific presentations, grant development, and dissemination of research findings at regional, national, and international meetings.

  • Foster multidisciplinary collaborations with investigators across UTMB and external academic partners.

  • Participate in mentoring trainees, research staff, fellows, residents, and junior investigators as appropriate.

  • Contribute to the strategic growth and national visibility of the Galveston Heart Study and the Sealy Heart & Vascular Institute.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MD, DO, or PhD in a relevant biomedical or health sciences discipline.

  • Demonstrated experience in clinical research and/or translational research.

  • Experience in cardiovascular research, cardiac imaging, epidemiology, outcomes research, or related fields.

  • Strong record of scientific productivity, including peer-reviewed publications.

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and collaborative skills

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in large prospective cohort studies or clinical registries.

  • Expertise in cardiovascular imaging research.

  • Experience with research operations, quality improvement, implementation science, or clinical data analytics.

  • Demonstrated success in grant writing and obtaining extramural funding.

  • Experience working within multidisciplinary academic research teams.

SALARY:
Commensurate with experience.

ACADEMIC RANK:
Appointment will be at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level, commensurate with qualifications, experience, and scholarly accomplishments.

VISION:
This position offers a unique opportunity to help build one of the nation's premier longitudinal cardiovascular cohort studies while contributing to innovative research in cardiac imaging, cardiovascular prevention, population health, and translational science through the Galveston Heart Study and the Sealy Heart & Vascular Institute.
