Informed by basic research done at our Sloan Kettering Institute, scientists across MSK collaborate to conduct innovative translational and clinical research that is driving a revolution in our understanding of cancer as a disease and improving the ability to prevent, diagnose, and treat it. MSK is dedicated to training the next generation of scientists and clinicians, who go on to pursueour missionat MSK and around the globe.

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center seeks Computational Biologist in New York, NY to provide support to research projects by designing, developing, and implementing software tools for processing and analyzing high-throughput next-generation sequencing data. Provide one-one-one consultation and training to research scientists and bioinformatics and software engineers in the use of bioinformatics software tools and databases. Responsible for program design, coding, testing, debugging and documentation as part of the bioinformatics data processing and analysis system. Design, develop, and operate software and databases as part of bioinformatics data processing and analysis system. Provide consultation and guidance to research scientists as well as other bioinformatics and software engineers at the Center. Full-time telecommuting permitted. EEO/VETS/ADA.

REQUIREMENTS:

Master's degree or equivalent in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field of study and 1 year of experience in the position offered or related; or a Bachelor's degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field of study and 2 years of experience in the position offered or related. Requires 1 year of experience with all of the following: working with Scripting languages including Perl or Python; working with Statistical programming including R; utilizing principles of Genetics to perform bioinformatic data analysis; and NGS data analysis. Must have coursework or experience in molecular biology including Cloning, PCR, and Pulldown assays.

SALARY: $83,800.00 - $134,000.00/year
