Job description

HealthYes Staffing Network is recruiting a board-certified or board-eligible Hematology/Oncology Physician for a permanent, hospital-employed opportunity with an established regional cancer program in Southeast Alabama.

Join three experienced physicians serving a strong 13-county referral area. The position combines inpatient and outpatient care with immediate patient volume, outpatient chemotherapy, on-site infusion and radiation therapy, and a multidisciplinary cancer-care team.

Experienced physicians and Hematology/Oncology fellows completing training in 2027 are encouraged to apply. J-1 waiver and H-1B visa sponsorship are available for qualified candidates.

Position Highlights

  • Permanent, full-time, hospital-employed position
  • Join an established team of three Hematology/Oncology physicians
  • Strong patient demand across a 13-county referral region
  • Inpatient and outpatient clinical responsibilities
  • Monday through Friday clinic schedule
  • Clinic hours of approximately 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
  • Shared 1:4 call rotation
  • On-site infusion center and outpatient chemotherapy administration
  • Radiation Oncology located within the cancer program
  • Multidisciplinary tumor board and cancer registry
  • Comprehensive clinical and administrative support staff
  • Experienced physicians and 2027 fellowship graduates considered

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and treat malignant and nonmalignant hematologic conditions
  • Provide comprehensive care for patients with solid tumors and hematologic malignancies
  • Develop individualized chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted-therapy, and supportive-care plans
  • Manage patients in both outpatient and inpatient settings
  • Oversee outpatient chemotherapy and infusion treatment
  • Review laboratory, pathology, imaging, and molecular-testing results
  • Participate in multidisciplinary tumor conferences
  • Coordinate care with Radiation Oncology, Surgery, Pathology, Radiology, Palliative Care, and other specialists
  • Participate in the shared Hematology/Oncology call rotation
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and expected outcomes
  • Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation
  • Support quality-improvement and patient-safety initiatives

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine residency
  • Completion or anticipated completion of an accredited Hematology/Oncology fellowship
  • Board certified or board eligible in Hematology and Medical Oncology
  • Eligible for an unrestricted Alabama medical license
  • Eligible for appropriate hospital and clinical privileges
  • Current fellows graduating in 2027 are encouraged to apply
  • Strong communication, clinical judgment, and multidisciplinary-care skills
