1ST SHIFT: HOURS 6AM - 230PM; MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY

Position Summary

This position is responsible for providing facility and mechanical maintenance leadership to the maintenance & mechanical team of the assigned location. This position also manages staffing to provide full-time maintenance and mechanical support for all shifts. This position is also responsible for procurement of goods and services that support the operations including maintaining spare parts inventory as well as preventive maintenance of plant/distribution equipment. This position is responsible for drafting a strategy around equipment maintenance and replacement to fit with the annual budgetary and capital plans for the location. Finally, this position is responsible for ensuring well trained mechanics and maintenance staff are available at the assigned location.

Position Responsibilities

  • Manage the mechanical and maintenance staff including, but not limited to, interviewing and hiring new hires to this department; approving time and absences; and completing performance appraisals.
  • Provide training to all staff members of this department across all the different types of equipment in the facility - finding external training sessions as well as developing internal training classes.
  • Creating and executing a preventive maintenance strategy to ensure that we have a plan for the maintenance and replacement schedules of all the equipment components of the facility.
  • Manage the maintenance of the facility infrastructure including building, lighting, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, parking area, fire protection system, security system, etc. Ensuring that the infrastructure is in the best shape possible to support the operations.
  • Manage the maintenance of all equipment involved in the facility operations including conveyors, MHE (Forklifts and Lift Trucks), sewing, etc.
  • Develop and manage a preventive maintenance program for all the equipment and infrastructure of the facility (both distribution and customization); implement such program and be responsible for its execution every year.
  • Manage the maintenance of all Customization Equipment, including sewing machines, embroidery machines, heat seal machines, autobaggers with lifts, Direct to Film Equipment, conveyors...etc.
  • Maintain parts inventory for the facility - equipment and building. Set minimums to trigger purchases and manage overall inventory levels to ensure proper maintenance of the facility while lowering the financial impact.
  • Manage contractors as needed including but not limited to lawn service, sprinkler PM/repairs and inspections, plumbing and electrical repairs, elevator PM/repairs and inspections, roof repairs, HVAC PM/repairs, etc. Build and maintain good working relationship with Partnering Service Companies.
  • Work with engineering, outside contractors and facility management on special projects and installations.
  • On call for any facility issues including but not limited to security system/alarm issues and gate issues.
  • Support regional moves and maintenance questions from regional DCs.
  • Other duties as assigned or as arise.

Position Requirements

  • Technical Degree required.
  • Bachelor's Degree a plus.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of maintenance & mechanical management/leadership experience;
  • Knowledge of industrial distribution and sewing equipment maintenance required.
  • Knowledge of Preventive Maintenance programs required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Proven leadership experience a must.
