Job description

Job Summary
Milwaukee Public Schools is actively recruiting qualified candidates for Traveling Music Instructors (TMI); full-time, strings and brass.
Placements and work schedules are determined based on school need in our elementary, middle, and/or high school settings. This position does not require a Wisconsin teaching license, but applicants with a music degree are preferred.
A Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) TMI provides instruction for students which is appropriate to their educational needs and developmental level.
The educational program is offered in an equitable, multi-cultural setting and teaches all children to think deeply, critically and creatively. The TMI's work supports the MPS strategic plan.

Qualifications
Eligible applicants MUST have:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • This position does not require a Wisconsin teaching license, but applicants with a music degree are preferred.
  • Valid State of Wisconsin Motor Vehicle operator's license and availability of properly insured personal vehicle at time of appointment and throughout employment required.
  • Travel required.

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule
The Traveling Music Instructor hourly wage range starts at $27.72 per hour.
Placements and work schedules are determined based on school need in our elementary, middle, and/or high school settings.
