MBA Consultant, Merchandising Analytics & Reporting

Location: Jericho, NY (On-site/4 days in office, 1 day remote)
Compensation: $35-$45 per hour
Duration: 10-Week MBA Consulting Engagement

Position Overview

1-800-FLOWERS.COM, Inc., a leading provider of gourmet food and floral gifts and a family of iconic brands, is seeking a highly analytical MBA candidate or recent graduate to support a 10-week strategic analytics and reporting project within the merchandising organization.

This role will focus heavily on helping the team improve reporting capabilities, data accessibility, and analytical visibility across merchandising and planning functions. The consultant will partner closely with merchandising leadership to help create scalable reporting processes, build dashboards and reports in Sigma, and leverage Snowflake and other BI tools to improve business decision-making.

This opportunity is ideal for an MBA student or recent graduate with strong analytical and technical skills who is interested in business intelligence, reporting strategy, merchandising analytics, and data-driven decision support within a fast-paced retail/eCommerce environment.


Key Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain reporting dashboards and analytical tools using Sigma and other BI platforms
  • Support the merchandising and planning teams by creating scalable and sustainable reporting processes
  • Work with Snowflake and large datasets to extract, organize, and analyze business data
  • Translate business questions and merchandising needs into actionable reporting solutions
  • Validate reporting accuracy and ensure consistency across key metrics and dashboards
  • Analyze merchandising, assortment, promotional, and performance data to identify trends and opportunities
  • Develop reporting frameworks that improve visibility into business performance and support strategic decision-making
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with merchandising, planning, analytics, and finance teams
  • Assist with ad hoc reporting requests and analytical deep dives
  • Create executive-ready summaries, dashboards, and presentations to communicate insights and recommendations
  • Support process improvement initiatives related to reporting automation and self-service analytics
  • Present project findings, reporting enhancements, and recommendations to leadership at the conclusion of the engagement
