Admissions Registered Nurse FT Nights

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate - Admissions Registered Nurse FT Nights to join our team at Seaside Health System in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

About the Role:

As a Admissions Registered Nurse FT Nights, you will be responsible for leading patient admissions, planning, organizing, and evaluating care interventions to achieve quality cost-effective outcomes. You will also support staff, patient, and family education to enhance knowledge, skills, and necessary behaviors to optimize patient health status.

Essential Job Duties:

• Provides patient assessment/treatment by accessing new patients within 8 hours of admission, initiating treatment plans, administering individual nursing care as ordered by the physician, and providing direct patient group treatments as scheduled.
• Screens patients for clinical appropriateness for inpatient hospital criteria and obtains admission order from the attending physician.
• Collaborates with other disciplines and treating physician regarding patient care and revision of treatment regime as part of the Treatment Team.
• Manages medication administration and appropriate handling and disposal of expired medications.
• Reports all medication administering errors made in a timely manner.
• Manages other duties as assigned/required.

Requirements:

• Education: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Licensed to practice nursing in the State of Louisiana.
• Minimum 1 year recent medical surgical or psychiatric clinical experience preferred.
• Knowledgeable and demonstrate competency in current principles and practices clinically specific medical surgical, psychiatric nursing.
• Able to problem-solve and communicate effectively.
