Description
Mackenthun's Bakery Specialist is responsible for packaging and stocking Bakery products onto displays and shelves in the Bakery area.
Position Details
Full-Time
Schedule: Daytime, Evenings, Weekends, some Holidays, Flexible 7am-6pm
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Neatly and efficiently slice and package fresh bakery products.
Keep Bakery shelves and displays fully stocked, rotating for freshness.
Set up products for the Bakers.
Help unload and store deliveries.
Clean work areas, bakery shelving and displays, wash dishes, assist with product deliveries, and practice proper safe-handling of food products and personal safety.
Maintain proper sanitation in the department at all times.
Other Duties
Participate in selling events.
Assist with seasonal decorations and displays.
Take customer orders for Bakery products.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Previous bakery experience preferred
  • Basic math skills
  • Strong customer service, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Honest, dependable, and able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong English communication skills (reading, writing, speaking)
  • Interest in food sales and learning product knowledge, including Mackenthun's Signature items
  • Ability to minimize product loss and safeguard company equipment and image
  • MN Food Manager Certification optional (may obtain after hire)
  • Ability to provide supervision as needed

Physical Requirements
Continuous standing, walking, and frequent bending, reaching, crouching, and lifting
Lift up to 60 lbs.; push/pull up to 1,500 lbs. with pallet jack
Ability to work in hot/cold conditions and around equipment noise
Exposure to cleaning chemicals
Training & Equipment
Training provided on bakery standards, food safety, and equipment operation.
Equipment may include ovens, mixers, fryers, pallet jacks, slicers, coolers/freezers, and other bakery tools (age restrictions apply).
