Position Description
Position Description
ERS construction company is currently seeking a heavy equipment operator. Heavy equipment operator's primary functions is to operate all types and sizes of heavy equipment including but not limited to Loaders, Backhoes, Bulldozers, Articulating Dump Trucks, Rollers, Tamps, Pans, etc. to help with all aspects of the grading operations. Equipment operators are also expected to assist in the general operation of each job site. The position consists of but is not limited to the following duties:
  • Operate heavy equipment in a safe and productive manner.
  • Works with crew to load trucks, dig trenches, ensure slopes are on grade.
  • Insure maintenance and inspection of equipment is performed.
  • May oil, grease, service and make normal operating adjustments to equipment.
  • May perform other related duties such as shovel work, setting string line, set up and maintenance of erosion control, checking and maintaining grade stakes, set up and maintenance of all traffic control aids, etc.
  • Maintain a clean job site- pick up all tools and equipment and secure job site(s) each day to eliminate potential hazards.
  • Perform materials handling and storage.
  • Load/unload trucks and haul materials.
  • Experience with backhoe operator, track-hoe operator, bulldozer operator, motor grader operator is accepted.

The above listed duties require periods of standing, walking, climbing, stooping, and bending as well as periodic lifting of up to 50 pounds.
Position Requirements
  • Full time + hours.
  • Must be able to work nights and weekend when required.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a drug test and meet Federal DOT requirements.
  • Must be able to consistently get to work on-time and work scheduled shifts.
  • Must be willing to learn new skills such as small hand power tools and willing to learn to operate heavy equipment.
  • Must be able to work nights and weekends when required.
