Job description

Position Purpose:

As a member of CollegeSource, Inc. (CSI), a successful AWS Security & Infrastructure Engineer

administers and supports multiple cloud infrastructures, cybersecurity, and monitoring. This

individual will be responsible for maintaining, securing, troubleshooting, and optimizing our AWS

and Microsoft cloud environments while ensuring high system availability and rapid issue

resolution.


Essential Functions:

-Support and administer AWS & Microsoft cloud services.

-Monitor cloud environments for permission, access, and security.

-Configure and maintain networking, VPNs, firewalls, load balancers, DNS, and WAF.

-Implement and manage AWS security best practices.

-Configure IAM roles, policies, MFA, security groups, and access controls.

-Monitor and respond to security incidents and vulnerabilities.

-Perform security audits, risk assessments, and remediation activities.

-Ensure compliance with the company's security standards and industry best practices such as SOC 2.

-Maintain logging, monitoring, and integrations.

-Manage infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC)tools, such as AWS CloudFormation or the Cloud

Development Kit (CDK).

-Develop automation scripts and tools to improve operational efficiency.

-Support CI/CD pipelines and DevOps processes.

-Troubleshoot deployment and application infrastructure issues.

-Collaborate with development teams on cloud-native solutions.

-Create APIs, scripts, or utilities when necessary.

-Perform other duties as assigned.


Competencies/Traits Required to Perform the Job:

-Experience in troubleshooting complex infrastructure and security issues.

-Ability to work independently and prioritize critical issues.

-Must be able to be seated, on the phone, and work on a computer 90% of the time.

-Strong technical and troubleshooting skills.

-Ability to quickly learn new technologies.

-Superior communication, organizational, and analytical skills.

-Team player with the ability to self-manage their workload.

-Strong verbal and written communication skills.


Education/Experience:

-5+ years of experience in AWS cloud infrastructure and security.

-AWS Security Certification is a plus.

-AWS SysOp Administration Certification is a plus.

-Experience supporting Microsoft cloud technologies (Azure, Microsoft 365, Entra ID/Azure AD).

-Strong understanding of AWS services, including: VPC, IAM, RDS, EC2, ECS, CloudWatch, Lambda, GuardDuty, Security Hub, Inspector, and CloudTrail.

-Experience with Windows and Linux server administration.

-Experience in scripting or development skills in one or more languages: Python, PowerShell, Bash, and JavaScript

-Experience with automation and DevOps tools: CloudFormation, CodeDeploy, CodePipeline, CDK, GitHub Actions, and Docker

-Knowledge of networking, firewalls, VPNs, DNS, and TCP/IP.
