Job description

Avionicsย Integration & Test Engineerย

Aboutย Graviticsย

Atย Gravitics,ย we'reย not exploring space-we'reย building it.ย We'reย creating the infrastructure for a thriving space economy, enabling humanity to flourish beyond Earth. Our vision is bold, butย we'reย not just dreamers;ย we'reย doers. We design and manufacture large-scale orbital structures that enable commercial operations while meeting the requirements of defense and government missions.ย
Our systems are built to scale and built to last - bridging commercial innovation with mission-critical performance.ย Ifย you'reย ready to lay the foundations for a new era in space, embrace a culture of relentless learning and innovation, and contribute to a future where humanity's reach extends farther,ย Graviticsย is the place for you.ย Let'sย build the future together.ย

About the Roleย

We'reย looking for exceptional engineersย with deep electricalย expertiseย toย take full ownershipย ofย ย theย assembly, integration, and verification of avionics and powerย systemsย for large space structures and flight hardware.ย You'llย work closely withย Avionics, Software, and Manufacturing teamsย to ensureย systemsย are brought up safely, correctly, and to mission requirements.ย

This role spans both hands-on work on the build floor and technical development of electrical test procedures, system checkouts, and integrated operations.ย You'llย be a key contributor from early integration through environmental qualification and delivery.ย

Responsibilitiesย

  • Own the design, build, integration, and troubleshooting of Hardware-in-the-Loop (HITL) and Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) test systemsย ย
  • Develop, refine, and execute detailed electrical test procedures for functional and environmental testing of avionics, power systems, and electronic assembliesย ย
  • Perform subsystem-level testing and end-to-end electrical integration, including monitoring and evaluating telemetry dataย ย
  • Conduct functional checkouts, including electrical continuity testing, power-on sequencing, and integrated system operationsย ย
  • Troubleshoot and resolve off-nominal electrical behavior in flight hardware and EGSEย ย
  • Interpret electrical schematics, block diagrams, wiring diagrams, and interface control documents (ICDs)ย ย
  • Contribute to Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs) andย validateย test results against design requirementsย ย
  • Ensure hardware integrationย complies withย safety standards, configuration control, and quality requirementsย ย
  • Support test data review, anomaly documentation, and issue trackingย ย
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, design, quality, and operations teams during build-to-test handoffsย ย
  • Drive continuous improvement of integration processes, test methods, and documentationย

About Youย

You thrive at the intersection of electrical engineering and real hardware.ย You'reย hands-on, methodical, and energized by the challenge of bringing complex avionics systems to life on the bench. You troubleshoot with first principles, communicate clearly across teams, and take pride in the rigor that flight hardware demands. You respect procedureย andย aren'tย afraid to improve it.ย

Required Qualificationsย

  • 3-5+ years of experience in integration, test, or systems-focused engineering with a strong electrical focusย
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineeringย or closely related ABET-accredited engineering disciplineย
  • Deep understanding of circuit components, digital/analog electronics, power supplies, and avionics architecturesย
  • Experience writing and executing electrical test procedures for subsystem and system-level hardwareย
  • Proficiencyย with electrical test equipment including DMMs, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and logic analyzersย
  • Experience with scripting or automation tools for test execution and data collectionย
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and interface control documentsย
  • Strong problem-solving skills usingย first-principlesย and systematic troubleshootingย
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced environments with shifting prioritiesย
  • Ability toย lift upย to 25ย lbsย and work around large hardwareย

Bonus Points Forย

  • Experience with spacecraft, launch vehicles, or other high-reliability aerospace systemsย
  • Familiarity with environmental testing including thermal, vibration, shock, and EMI/EMCย
  • Experience with EGSE design, cable harness integration, or specialized test rack build-upย
  • Knowledge of avionics architectures, bus protocols (Ethernet, RS422, CAN, etc.), and flight software interfacesย
  • Experience in SILย and HITLย test setupsย
  • Experience developing work instructions or supporting technicians during integrationย
    • Background in safety-critical or configuration-controlled environmentsย

Compensation and Benefits

Your level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the considerations of job-related knowledge and skills, education, and direct experience. Salary is just one component of the total employee package, which also includes company equity at an exciting time of company growth, as well as comprehensive medical, 401(k) retirement plan, a generous PTO policy, employee discounts, and more.ย
